Punjab Government launches Daily SMS Price Information Service
Government of Punjab has launched an SMS based price
information service for the residents of all districts of Punjab. With the help
of this service, you can get Online Prices in Punjab. You can get daily updated
prices of more than 36 grocery and food items including Milk, Vegetables,
Fruits, Meat (Beef, Mutton, Chicken), Eggs, Ghee, Rice and Flour Prices in your district via SMS.
This service is available for all districts of Punjab; Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Jhang,
Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Sahiwal, DG Khan, Khanewal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Attock, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Chakwal, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Khushab, Layyah, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Muzaffargarh, Narowal, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Sheikhupura, Toba Tek Singh and Vehari. If you are living in a tehsil or other surrounding area, you will only write the name of your district.
How to get Today’s Prices on Your Mobile
You will have to send your city name to 80024 and you will
get price details of all essential grocery and food on your mobile.
Type ‘Price’ ‘City Name’ and send SMS to 80024.
For instance, if you want to receive prices for City and
District Lahore, type ‘Price Lahore’ and send it to 80024.
Complaints
If you experience any difference in prices for your local
market, you can register a complaint with Punjab Government at their toll-free
number 0800-02346.

This service will be very helpful for checking and controlling prices. It will give relief to the public of Punjab. Punjab Government has also established District Consumer Courts. Governments of other provinces should also take such initiatives for the welfare of their public.

Are these rates for best quality product or just for normal one? Usually shopkeepers argue that the price mentioned in list is for average.. not for superior quality! What do we do than?
