In this post I will show you few best methods of working online and making money. Many Pakistanis are working on one or more ways and earning handsome amounts. I have also worked with some of these myself successfully and researched on others as well before writing this post. Below are 7 best ways to earn online. I will discuss each way briefly so you can have an idea of these ways. However, I would suggest you to learn more about any specific method before working on it.

1. Blogging

Blogging is on the top due to two major reasons; firstly it is easy to start and maintain and secondly you can start a free blog initially. A blog is a type of website where you write posts regularly on any topic. People interested in these topics visit your blog website and you earn by displaying ads on your blog.

I also started my online career by creating a free blog on Blogspot. You can also create a free blog on blogspot.com. There are many other websites which offer free blogs. Simply fill out simple forms and choose  layout and design of your blog and your blog will be available online. Now login to your dashboard, customize settings of it and start writing posts on it. Once your blog is ready, submit its url to major search engines and also promote it on social media e.g. Facebook, Twitter etc. Soon you will see visitors coming to your blog.

Now its time to earn money from it, you can register your blog with any ad network e.g. Google AdSense, InfoLinks etc. If your blog fulfils Google's requirements, apply for Google AdSense. Work hard on writing your blog and promoting it, you will start earning slowly in start but keep working and you will get good results.  In Pakistan you will get paid via Western Union, once your earnings reached minimum 100$.

2. Freelance Jobs

If you are computer literate and can work for others, you may join any network of freelancers. There are many websites (e.g eLance.com, oDesk.com) which provide platform to freelancers and employers. Here employers post jobs and workers bid on their jobs. This option is best for those who are already in the business of selling or manufacturing goods. You can open an online store by creating a website for it or simply create a Facebook Fanpage for it where you can post details and price of your products and people who are willing to buy will contact you. Many people are selling goods just by posting ads on OLX and other classified ad websites. This option requires investment to store products, to develop a website and to make delivery arrangements e.g. Courier.

You can refer your friends and contacts or can write eBook to promote a product or can add their ads on your website. These companies will pay you commission for every sale made through you.

Reseller business is also a good way to make money online but requires hard work and marketing skills. Reseller web hosting business is very popular these days. People buy things from the main company and resell to customers with own brand name and on own prices. For example, people buy bulk hosting space from a big company and resell to customers with their own custom packages and rates. There are also some companies which let you sell hosting space without buying. These companies give you whole sale rates and you sell these products to your customers on your price. You act like a middle man where customers buy things from the main company without knowing this. In this business, reseller business companies usually assist you to develop your online store. Span of this poll is one year and this poll is ended up on 09 June 2012. 

1000 people voted in this poll in about first two months. And I published a post about its results on this weblog. Up to that time Imran Khan was the most famous politician on my poll with 58 percent votes. Mian Nawaz Sharif was on Second, Pervez Musharraf was on third and Mian Shahbaz Sharif on fourth position. While all other could get less than 5 percent votes each, including Altaf Hussain who got 4 percent votes till that time. Poll was running slowly and steadily, then Altaf Hussain suddenly taken over the poll and reached on top by getting 43 percent votes at the end of the poll. Altaf Hussain left Imran Khan and others behind.

1. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif (PML-N)

Mian Nawaz Sharif is the Founder Leader of Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz. His date of birth is 25 December, 1949 (Lahore).

Nawaz Sharif is the Ex Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. First time he became Prime Minister of Pakistan in November 1990 and then again he was elected as Prime Minister in February 1997. During his second tenure, Pakistan conducted successful Nuclear Blasts on May 28, 1998. Lahore Declaration was signed between him and Atal Behari Vajpayee in 1999. His Government was terminated by General Pervez Musharraf on 12 October 1999.

2. Imran Khan (PTI)

Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi was born in Mianwali on 25 November, 1952. He is the President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He is the best Pakistani Cricketer; Pakistan won Cricket World Cup under his captaincy in 1992. Imran Khan founded Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Lahore and Namal University Mianwali.

He married Jemima Khan in 1995 and announced divorce in 2004. They have two sons; Suleman Khan and Qasim Khan.

3. Chaudhry Shujat Hussain (PML-Q)

Chaudhry Shujat Hussain is the President of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid-e-Azam. He was born on 27 January, 1946. He became the Prime Minister of Pakistan for a short tenure of three months in June 2004. He belongs to a political family of Gujrat.

4. Asif Ali Zardari (PPPP)

Asif Ali Zardari is the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He is also Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party - Parliamentarians while his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the Chairman of Party. He is the husband of Benazir Bhutto, Ex – Prime Minister of Pakistan and Son-in-Law of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

8. Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan (PPPP)

Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan was born on 27 September, 1945. He belongs to Pakistan Peoples Party – Parliamentarians. He is Ex-President of Supreme Court Bar Association and Ex-Federal Interior Minister. He is a founder and Vice-President of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He is a Barrister-at-Law and a senior advocate at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He successfully represented Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry's case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed is the Ex-Federal Information Minister during PML-Q tenure. He was born on 6 November, 1950 in Rawalpindi. He is the President of newly formed Awami Muslim League. 13. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan (PML-N)

14. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi

Makhdoom Javed Hashmi is the Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz. He is a very committed and brave politician. During the exile of Nawaz Sharif, Javed Hashmi continued his struggle for the restoration of democracy from the platform of PML-N. He is the author of famous book “Main Baaghi Hoon”.

He was born on 1 January, 1948 in Multan.

He has left PML-N and has join PTI.

15. Pervez Musharraf (APML)

General (R) Pervez Musharraf is the Ex-President of Pakistan. He has also established his own political party named All Pakistan Muslim League. He was born on 11 August, 1943 in Delhi. He took part as Army Officer in 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak Wars. He also fought 1998’s Kargil War. He was appointed as Chief of Army Staff on 7 October, 1998. Musharraf took over the government as Chief Executive on 12 October, 1999. He remained the ruler of Pakistan until 2008.

He also wrote a book “In the Line of Fire”.
