The provincial government of Punjab has recently announced to bear the power cost of domestic users that consume up to 100 units of electricity in a month. The government has set aside Rs100 billion for the relief program which will benefit nine million households.
CM of Punjab Hamza Shahbaz said that "This will act as an incentive for those who use more than 100 units of electricity to save energy". The chief minister also said that the government will provide solar panels to the people in need so they can shift to alternate sources of electricity.
100 percent of free electricity will be provided to those homes of Punjab that consume less than 100 units of monthly electricity.

It will benefit about 55 million less privileged people. According to the details, this subsidy scheme will be implemented from 18th July 2022.
Earlier, the Indian state government of Dehli also started a free electricity campaign for 200 free monthly units. But now there is news that this scheme will vanish very soon in Dehli.
