Naya Pakistan Sehat Card/ Health Card - Complete Information

In this post, I will provide complete details about Naya Pakistan Sehat Card/ Health Card; How to get it, who is eligible, how to check the status online, the hospital list and which type of health care or medical treatment is covered under the Sehat Insaf Card.

Under this program, all Pakistani nationals will be entitled to this health care program while all permanent residents of Punjab will be entitled before 31 March 2022.

Eligibility Criteria

As per NADRA record a married person, his wife, his unmarried children are a family unit. A widow should get updated her record in NADRA. A Health card is issued in the name of the head of the family and all other family members will be facilitated with it.

How to Check Eligibility

(1) Any Pakistani citizen can send his CNIC number in an SMS to 8500 to check his eligibility for the program. Within a few minutes, the sender will receive a response letting them know about their eligibility.

How to get Sehat Insaf Card

There is no separate insaf card, your national identity card is also your Insaf Card.

How to Use Sehat Insaf Card to get Treatment

If you are eligible as per 8500 SMS, you can avail of hospital services from empaneled hospitals by showing your CNIC/B-Form. After reaching your nearest panel hospital, approach the dedicated Sehat Card/ Sehat Sahulat Program counter for further assistance. The SSP representative will verify your record and will guide you to the relevant hospital department for treatment.

Amount

Annual 01 million rupees is fixed for the treatment of each family unit. A family can use up to 400,000 PKR for priority healthcare services and 60,000 PKR for secondary healthcare services. Family can benefit from the card till the cash limit is available.
Though in special circumstances, the treatment limit could be exceeded to 1,000,000 PKR per year. In some cases, the treatment/services will be offered even if the coverage limit is exhausted.

Is OPD Covered?

OPD is not covered.

Are medicines covered?

Medicines are free only for admitted patients.

Are lab tests and other diagnostics covered?

Only if you are admitted as a patient.

In which disease can the Health Card be used?

The treatment of any disease that requires the patient to be admitted in the hospital is covered under the “Sehat Sahulat Program”, except for the exclusions agreed with the Insurance Company.
Secondary Care and Priority Treatment include:
  • In-Patient Services (All Medical and Surgical Procedures).
  • Emergency Treatment requiring admission.
  • Maternity Services (Normal Delivery and C – Section).
  • Maternity Consultancy / Antenatal Checkups (4 times before delivery and one follow-up after delivery).
  • Maternal Consultancy for family planning, immunization and nutrition.
  • Fractures / Injuries.
  • Heart diseases (Angioplasty/bypass).
  • Diabetes Mellitus Completion.
  • Burns and RTA (Life, Limb Saving Treatment, implants, Prosthesis).
  • End-stage kidney diseases/ dialysis.
  • Chronic infections (Hepatitis/HIV/Rheumatology).
  • Organ Failure (Liver, Kidney, Heart, Lungs).
  • Cancer (Chemo, Radio, Surgery).
  • Neurosurgical Procedure.
  • Thalassemia
  • Kidney Transplant
  • Post hospitalization.
  • Local Transportation Cost of PKR 1,000 (thrice per year).
  • Provision of transport to tertiary care hospitals.

What If a person has more than One Wife

All wives and all unmarried (under 18 years of age) children are covered.
