Participate in "Best Space School Competition" by SUPARCO


SUPARCO is conducting World Space Week in Pakistan. World Space Week is declared by the United Nations which is held every year during October 04~10 in more than 80 countries to celebrate the contribution of space science and technology for the betterment of human being. WSW is coordinated by the United Nations with the support of the World Space Week Association.
SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) is the national space agency of Pakistan which has been celebrating World Space Week since 2005. This year SUPARCO has invited all public and private schools to participate and win the title of "Best Space Science School in Pakistan".


General Guidelines for Participants

  • Schools, colleges, universities (both public and private) from all over Pakistan are eligible to participate in World Space Week.
  • Each school shall first register on WSW webpage and obtain unique web ID.
  • Schools shall conduct the selected activities on their premises from 4 to 10 Oct 2019 only.
  • After successfully conducting the event, the schools shall upload the event report on the given template along with pictures and 3-minute video.

Rules for Best Space School Competition

  • All registered schools will be eligible to compete for the 'Best Space School' competition.
  • Schools shall be judged on the following criteria, primarily based on the report and pictorial evidence submitted to SUPARCO.
a. Total number of activities
b. Total strength (participants + audience)
c. Ambiance (presentation, décor of the venue)
d. Thematic relevancy
e. Innovative ideas (out of the box activity held relevant to the theme)
f. Media Coverage (Print/electronic media)
  • The winning schools will be given certificates, title of ‘Best Space School’ and a handsome cash prize. Moreover, winning schools will be featured on SUPARCO’s official website.
  • For less than 10 registered schools, 1 school each from public & private sector will be selected as winners; for 10-100 registered schools, 10 % of schools each from public & private sectors will be selected as winners; and for over 100 registered schools, 10 schools each from public and private sector will be selected as winners.
  • All registered schools willing to participate in the ‘Best Space School Competition’ are obliged to provide event report (as mentioned in guidelines) to SUPARCO.
  • All schools shall abide by the Rules and Guidelines set by SUPARCO. Decision/ Judgment will solely be the responsibility of SUPARCO and will be final, subject to no objection whatsoever.
  • SUPARCO reserves the right to warn or disqualify any entry in case of violations at any stage.
  • SUPARCO reserves all the right to amend, cancel, and withdraw any rule of the competition at any stage of the event.

Schools can participate in the following competitions. 
  1. Qirat Competition
  2. Space Quiz Competition
  3. Space Declamation Contest
  4. Space Spellathon (Vocabulary Competition)
  5. Poster Making Competition
  6. Essay Writing Competition
  7. Model Making Competition
  8. Space Theater
  9. Space Walk
Above is the list of possible activities, however schools are free to any other activity which is not mentioned here. 
There is no limit on activities but minimum one activity is required to register. However more the activities, more will be the chances to win.



How to Participate in the "Best Space School Competition"

  1. Get registered on Suparco Web Page before 01 October 2019.
  2. Conduct selected activities at the registered school premises. 
  3. Submit your report, photos and video of the event and wait for the result.
