European Union renovate relations with Pakistan

by
European Union renovate relations with Pakistan
European Union is trying to patch up relations with Pakistan after the situation occurred after the remarks of British Prime Minister David Cameron against Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is exporting terror.
The immature and undiplomatic language and poison based on unfounded gossip, and innuendo against Pakistan is seen in Europe as a awful thing. European Diplomats were shocked at the statements of the British Prime Minister.

Now the European Nations want to make compensation. The EU’s foreign policy chief, Lady Ashton, has moved Pakistan to the top of the EU agenda. Lady Ashton has urged foreign ministers in the EU to step up their support for Pakistan. It’s in the EU’s interest that we have a stable and prosperous Pakistan, but also the international community as a whole. She said that it damages the other 26 EU states what he Prime Minister Cameron said.

Two of the key options would be to extend reduced tariffs to Pakistan by including it in the EU’s generalized system of preferences (GSP) scheme, or to construct a tailor-made set of trade preferences for the country, focusing on specific types of products such as textiles.

Italy had earlier this year backed offering trade incentives to the country, but was met with a lack of interest. In the wake of the floods, however, EU member states are understood now to be more sympathetic to the options.

EU’s chief diplomat in the country, Tomas Niklasson has made some important statements about Pakistan and raised the red flag in Brussels. It seems the Europeans seem to recognize the gravity of the situation.
Leigh Phillips of the Guardian prodigiously lifts the curtain on the inner workings of the European Diplomatic corps and sheds light on the new initiative being undertaken by European countries to obviate the damage that had been done to European-Pakistani relations by Prime Minister Cameron.

·         Pakistan is too important for the European Union to ignore and the EU’s foreign ministers should discuss it as a priority at their next meeting, the EU’s foreign policy chief said Thursday in a letter seen by the DPA.

·        The EU sees Pakistan as a key ally in issues such as counter-terrorism and the war in Afghanistan, but has not yet translated that vision into concrete policy. Pakistani officials say the bloc has been too slow to offer broader benefits such as liberalized trade.
·         ‘It is my feeling that our relationship with Pakistan has untapped potential, including in the area of development assistance, counter-terrorism and trade,’ Catherine Ashton wrote ahead of an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers Sept 10-11.

Pakistan has registered its protest with the British government on the eve of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari’s official visit to the UK. Pakistani government contacted British high commissioner to Islamabad Adam Thomson and registered its protest.

Pakistan is itself victim of terrorism and its efforts against terrorism could not be neglected.

Pakistan Zindabad - Happy Independence Day to All Pakistanis

by
Pakistan Zindabad - Happy Independence Day to All Pakistanis
Happy Independence Day to All Pakistanis residing in Pakistan or living abroad. Pakistan’s Independence Day is celebrated every year on 14 August since 1947. On this 14 August, 2010 we have enjoyed 63 years of independence and sovereignty. Pakistan was come into being on 14 August 1947 by Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with the blessings and mercy of Allah. Many great Muslim leaders took part into the Independence Movement to give us the freedom e.g. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Nawabzada Liaqat Ali Khan, Chaudhary Rehmat Ali, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan…. Today we should pay tribute to our great leaders.

On 14 August, public holiday is observed every year. Independence day is celebrated in all provinces and territories of Pakistan by flag raising ceremonies, tribute to the national heroes and fireworks.

While celebrating National Independence Day, we should not forget our brothers who are in trouble due to flood. We should stand with a new passion for the help and support of these flood victims.

President and Prime Minister will raise flag in President House, Parliament House, Prime Minister House and other Federal Government Main Offices in Islamabad. While all Chief Ministers and Governors will raise Pakistani Flags in their provincial headquarters.  All government officials preach Quaid’s Motto “Unity, Faith and Discipline” in their speeches.

Every Pakistani is praying for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. May our country celebrate millions of Independence Days.

Pakistan Flood – Help to Deprived People of Pakistan
Please help to your brothers who are facing hunger from last many weeks. They are in short of food and drinking water. They even have not shelter for them, their children and women. Millions of men, women and children are facing real starvation. The situation is worse in some areas of Pakistan than of Somalia. People are dying due to lack of food and water. They are facing many types of diseases, and medical facility is not enough. There is no exact data of loss due to flood disaster but it is estimated that the loss is more than the total loss of 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake – all put together! Moreover scale of the disaster has just begun to become clear but there are already fears of another wave of floods, as the monsoon season continues.

Flood survivors are in need of massive generous support from their Pakistani brothers as well as international community. Water is everywhere but people don’t have a single drop to drink.

How to Help to Flood Affected Pakistanis?

You can help to your brothers in many ways.

1. You can personally go to any affected area and offer your help, if they are in your approach. Ask them that how you can help them.

2. You can give donations to any government organization or NGOs. In Pakistan Government has announced an account number in which you can deposit your funds. Different other organizations are also in action e.g. Edhi Foundation, you can also give donations to any of trustworthy NGO.
